Stellantis is recalling approximately 285,000 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans in the US due to a potential issue with their side curtain airbag inflators. The inflators could burst, causing metal shrapnel to be expelled into the cabin. The problem stems from moisture that may have entered the inflators during the manufacturing process, leading to internal corrosion and possible cracks. The affected vehicles, manufactured from 2018 to 2021, will have the side airbags replaced free of charge. Stellantis has not received reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue.
