Dave & Buster's plan to allow betting on arcade games draws scrutiny

Arcade chain Dave and Buster’s is facing opposition to its plan to allow customer betting. A software company called Lucra Sports has partnered with Dave and Buster’s to enable customers to place wagers on arcade games through the company’s app. However, some lawmakers are against this idea. An Illinois State Representative has filed a bill to prohibit family amusement establishments from facilitating betting on arcade games and wants to criminalize the activity. He believes that these businesses do not have the means to oversee gambling activity responsibly. The Ohio gaming control board has also expressed concerns about the proposal.
