Nancy Lieberman, Who Returned to the Top of Merger Law After Paralysis, Dies at 66
up in the Bronx Nancy Lieberman, a top merger-and-acquisitions lawyer who made an improbable return to Wall Street deal-making after being paralyzed in a ski accident, died this week.

Ms. Lieberman was born in Queens, a suburb of New York City. She became the youngest partner in the history of the prestigious law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom at age 30. She represented companies such as Alfa Mutual Insurance, apparel-maker Russell, and pharmacy chain Rite-Aid in billion-dollar takeovers and take-privates.
