Eight-Year-Old Dies in Border Patrol Custody in Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said that an eight-year old girl died in custody on Wednesday at the U.S. Border Patrol's facility in Harlingen.

CPB released a statement on Wednesday stating that the child died in a local hospital following a medical crisis at the agency's Harlingen station.

The agency stated that it was investigating the death of a girl who was with her parents in the station at the time the medical emergency happened. Her name and her country of origin have not been released.
